Attending Physicians at The Laurels of Bon Air

The Laurels of Bon Air is very pleased that many surgeons and attending physicians follow their patients at our facility.

If your physician does not have admitting privileges, our Medical Director or other attending physician will be happy to oversee your care while you are staying with us. If you have any questions regarding your physician coverage, please don't hesitate to contact us at (804) 521-9980. We can assist you to ensure that you will have physician coverage.

Danny W. Felty, MD, FAAFP, CMD

Medical Director

Dr. Felty is a distinguished graduate of Virginia Military Institute, where he earned his bachelor of science degree in biology in 1994. He earned his degree of doctor of medicine from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1998 and completed his residency at the same institution in 2001. Dr. Felty has been with Legacy Care since 2013. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, outdoor sports, and activities with his local church.

Heather Mullen, FNP

Nurse Practitioner

Heather Mullen is a Family Nurse Practitioner with Legacy Care. She completed her bachelor of science in nursing and master's in nursing degree at West Virginia University. Prior to joining Legacy Care, Heather worked for eight years at VCU Health System focusing on abdominal transplant, including kidney, liver, pancreas and islet cells. She has enjoyed caring for guests at The Laurels of Bon Air for the past five years.

Dr. Tania Akers White, MD

Attending Physician

Dr. Akers-White completed her undergraduate work at the University of Virginia. She received her master’s degree in public health from George Washington University. Following graduate school, Dr. Akers-White earned her medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Dr. Akers-White is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish. She considers herself a lifelong student and is currently pursuing her board certification in Obesity Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. She enjoys traveling, participating in community events, and spending time with her husband and two young children.
