What differentiates one skilled nursing & rehabilitation center from another? The answer is... the people who work and reside there! The people set the tone, the atmosphere, and the expectations. At The Laurels of Bon Air, we take great pride in ensuring that everyone feels like part of our family and that they are treated as special "guests" in our home.

The Laurels of Bon Air employs a team of highly qualified medical professionals, including a Medical Director, Registered Nurses, Restorative Care Nurses, a Wound Care Nurse, state tested Certified Nursing Assistants, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and a Speech Therapist. Our on-site Rehab, Dietary, Social Work, and Activities departments provide personalized and compassionate care to each guest. From the moment you walk through the front doors, the warmth and caring of the staff will begin to gain your trust and confidence, as they strive to exceed your expectations.

Unlike other facilities that use "contracted" staff members, each member of the team at The Laurels of Bon Air is directly employed, not "contracted". Each Team Member takes great pride in portraying "The Laurel Way of Caring", as they strive for excellence in providing only the highest standard of care and services to every guest, and to every family member and visitor. Adam Harrison

Administrator

Adam Harrison joined The Laurels of Bon Air as administrator in March 2022.

As a child, Adam considered many professions, including becoming a pharmacist and an artist. As it happens, he did end up in the healthcare field, but in a different capacity. Adam was first introduced to working in a healthcare setting as a youth volunteer and later served as an intern in a community healthcare setting for uninsured and indigent populations. He first discovered his passion for serving the aging population after having completed an administrator-in-training program with Medical Facilities of America in 2018 and went on to serve as administrator at Henrico Health and Rehabilitation on the West end of Richmond for several years. He most recently held the position of executive director for Consulate Health Care in Williamsburg, Va.

With every audit, Inservice, staff meeting, policy review, quality assurance meeting and round table discussion, Adam is committed to ensuring quality outcomes and optimizing the patient care experience. As a leader, Adam believes in empowering and positively influencing associates to excel in their roles with a hands-on approach.

Brenda Larkin

Rehabilitation Services Director

Brenda graduated from John Tyler in 1997 with Associate in Applied Science for Physical Therapist Assistant. She has worked in Skilled Nursing Facilities for over 20 years. Brenda has been at The Laurels of Bon Air since before it opened in 2007 and has made her home in Powhatan, VA. Brenda loves her job and enjoys gardening and spending time with grandchildren in her free time.
